Ground Remediation By Resin Injection:

Restek uses traditional testing methods and our unique deep Ground Penetrating Radar – GPR for Highways or Rail to create a value-engineered solution, bespoke for each project. Our ground stabilisation techniques are value engineered and involve driving small, specialist injection lances into mobile ground consisting of loose soil, gravels & voids.

After reviewing the GPR data, we create and agree the remediation schedule with the client, we use a continual systematic injection and reaction technique to carefully monitor the stabilisation process. We inject a combination of different resin types, at varying depths and volumes through each lance. This multi-level, multi-resin injection procedure, ensures the correct resin is efficiently injected, at each level and at exactly the right amount through each lance.

Once injected, Restek resins undergo a chemical reaction, changing from a low-viscosity liquid to a solid. This process begins with foaming to four times the injection volume, which helps to significantly reduce the volume and weight of the injection product. This compacts and stabilises the surrounding loose ground & voids beneath the ground.

We offer a value engineered solution, bespoke for each project

A value engineered solution is so important as every ground remediation project is unique and can present many different issues below ground. Restek combines traditional testing with the latest GPR technology for highways and rail to create clear, accurate and reliable data of issues in the subsoil. We undertake all aspects of ground remediation so we can offer value-engineered, full turnkey projects to our clients. Restek’s Ground Penetrating Radar is available with purpose built options for use on rail and highways projects.

Restek identifies all issues above and below the subsoil using the data we have gathered through GPR surveys, to ensure the correct method of remediation is always used. We eliminate guess work by using our deep GPR. This allows us to assess the ground stabilisation process pre, during and finally validate the work, post remediation.

Many of Restek’s competitors carry out simple isolated testing and then inject the same resin around the project, based on an isolated test. This method doesn’t give a clear picture of the issues beneath the ground or the entirety of the project. This can cause instant additional problems with heave or recurring problems in the future, due to the wrong solution being advised.

On Track Rail GPR

Restek’s deep GPR rail rig allows crystal clear images of the ground beneath in both 2D & 3D options

High Quality LIVE GPR Data

Restek’s GPR system uses the latest software to blend an accurate, detailed image of the issues in the subsoil

Value Engineered Remediation

Value engineered solutions to ensure exactly the right amount, type and depth of resin injection is administered

Not knowing the full extent of the problem can result in:

• Re-visiting the site over and over, forcing downtime/closures while additional work is carried out

• Wasting time & money trying different things that don’t solve the real issue

• Spending more money on remediation & identifying further reoccurring problems in the future

• Additional costs putting on alternate transportation or diverting traffic, while closed for repair

• Greater environmental impact through more waste material, unnecessary remediation causing excessive damage to the ecosystem
